Solomon

Solomon was known as the king of wisdom. He asked God for wisdom more than wealth, and God blessed him with wealth as well as wisdom.

For who is able to govern this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked. Joseph

Joseph was gifted by God with the ability to interpret dreams. He understood the dreams. In the same way, he interpreted the king’s dream with wisdom and saved the people from famine with this wisdom.

Daniel

Daniel became famous for his wisdom because he interpreted the king’s dream with wisdom through God.

During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven and said: “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. Paul

Paul understood the gospel with wisdom. Wisdom was needed to understand it. First, Paul understood the gospel, then preached its teachings to the people.

Moses

Deborah

Deborah led the Israelites as a judge, and she did it with wisdom and got victory.

Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time. She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided. (Judges 4:4-5)

Job

According to Job, the person who fears God and protects himself from evil is the one who has true wisdom.

Ezra

Ezra understood and applied God’s teachings with wisdom.

Samuel

Samuel led Israel according to God’s command and led them all with wisdom.

The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the Lord. (1 Samuel 3:19-20)

Abigail

Nabal acted foolishly and David was very angry with him, but Abigail counseled him to use wisdom instead of bloodshed, and David did so.

Abigail acted quickly. She took two hundred loaves of bread, two skins of wine, five dressed sheep, five seahs of roasted grain, a hundred cakes of raisins and two hundred cakes of pressed figs, and loaded them on donkeys. Then she told her servants, “Go on ahead; I’ll follow you.” But she did not tell her husband Nabal. As she came riding her donkey into a mountain ravine, there were David and his men descending toward her, and she met them. David had just said, “It’s been useless—all my watching over this fellow’s property in the wilderness so that nothing of his was missing. He has paid me back evil for good. May God deal with David, be it ever so severely, if by morning I leave alive one male of all who belong to him!” When Abigail saw David, she quickly got off her donkey and bowed down before David with her face to the ground. She fell at his feet and said: “Pardon your servant, my lord, and let me speak to you; hear what your servant has to say. Please pay no attention, my lord, to that wicked man Nabal. Esther

Hard times had come upon the Jews. Esther hid from the king that she belonged to a Jewish family but had to reveal this fact to him. So she wisely revealed this secret to the king.

On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance. When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, he was pleased with her and held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand. So Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter. Then the king asked, “What is it, Queen Esther? What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be given you.” “If it pleases the king,” replied Esther, “let the king, together with Haman, come today to a banquet I have prepared for him.” “Bring Haman at once,” the king said, “so that we may do what Esther asks.” So the king and Haman went to the banquet Esther had prepared. As they were drinking wine, the king again asked Esther, “Now what is your petition? It will be given you. And what is your request? David

David considered God’s teachings in every matter and walked with wisdom.

Barnabas

Barnabas strengthened the people and led them wisely.

News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. When Jesus was born, the Eastern wise men attested to his birth. They sent the happy news of Jesus’ birth to the king after observing a star in the sky that told them that Jesus had been born.
