Caleb was a very brave man. He was known as an important person because of his bravery. He belonged to a tribe called Judah and was the leader of the Israelites. Because of Caleb’s bravery and faith, he was chosen to be a spy. The spy was to visit the land of Canaan.
Verse

Mission of spies
Moses gathered 12 spies to spy out the land of Canaan. These 12 spies were selected from 12 tribes. Caleb’s partner was Joshua. Caleb and Joshua spied together, and the other spies went with them. They saw that the land was very rich and fertile, but the people there were very powerful. The other spies were afraid because the people there were too strong, but Caleb didn’t think so because his faith was strong.
Verse
“When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said, “Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country. See what the land is like and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many. What kind of land do they live in? Is it good or bad? What kind of towns do they live in? Are they unwalled or fortified? How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor? Are there trees in it or not? Do your best to bring back some of the fruit of the land.” (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.)” (Numbers 13:17-20)
Faith of Caleb
After spying on the land of Canaan, when all the people returned, the rest of the spies said that the land there is good, but the people there are too powerful and it is very difficult to fight with them. They said everything in fear. While Caleb and Joshua said that the land there is very beautiful and we must have full faith in our God and fight bravely and never lose courage then we will never be weak.
Verse
“Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” (Numbers 13:30)
Stand of Caleb And Joshua
All the people were afraid to compete with the people of the land of Canaan because they had seen the strength of the people there, but Caleb and Joshua said that we will surely get that land if we fight bravely. Caleb and Joshua encouraged everyone. Caleb and Joshua’s friendship was very strong and they supported each other in every moment. Both also trusted God a lot.
Verse
“Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes and said to the entire Israelite assembly, “The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.” (Numbers 14:6-9)
Caleb’s Faithfulness Reward
Those who put their trust in God, God never abandons them in difficult times and fully rewards them for their hard work. When Caleb and Joshua entered the land of Canaan with all their bravery and faithfulness to God, God blessed them.
