Jesus Christ – The Central Figure of the Old and New Testament
The central figure of the New Testament is Jesus. He is considered the son of God and according to some sects, he is considered the last messenger. There are many sects in Christianity, some sects say that Jesus is the son of God and some say that he is the prophet and the last. Jesus was born in Bethlehem. His birth was miraculous. A virgin woman gave birth to him. This woman’s name was Mary. Jesus was born by the Holy Spirit. Mary’s husband was Joseph, but he was not the biological father of Jesus.
He belonged to a Jewish family known as Nazareth, which was part of Palestine. Mary was given the good news by God that through her a savior will come to the world, through whom the Israelites will go on the straight path and God will forgive the sins of the people. Many people pointed fingers at the character of Mary because she was a virgin. People started calling her a bad character. Therefore, when Jesus was born, she testified to the pure character of her mother. When he was young, he spoke. It shows the power of God. God gave Jesus many miracles. He also used to revive the dead. In addition, many of his miracles are recorded in the Bible which we will read next.
