Mary as a God Choice
Mary holds great importance in the Christian religion because she was the woman from whose womb Jesus was born. It was a great miracle of God. Gabriel came to Mary and gave her the message of God that God has chosen her for a great work. God wants her to give birth to a son who will be the savior of the people. Mary accepted this. She knew that after all this she would have to face many difficulties because it is not a common thing for a woman who is a virgin to become pregnant. Mary realized this but still God had chosen her so she submitted to God’s will.

Joseph’s Role in Mary’s Life
After Mary and Joseph became engaged, Joseph found out that Mary was expecting a child. He believed that in order to protect Mary’s honor, he would leave her in secret. In Joseph’s dream, an angel appeared. According to him, the child in Mary’s womb was intended for humanity, and he would save the world. And the Holy Spirit intervened in his birth. Thus, maintain your connection with Mary and do not end your relationship with her. God has told you to do this which Joseph surrendered to.

Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:19-21)
Jesus’ Birth
Joseph took Mary with him to Bethlehem, where Mary gave birth to Jesus in a manger. It was a very simple place. There were some shepherds there. The angels announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds, on which they congratulated Mary and Joseph. It was a very special day when the savior of humanity came to the world from God. Because of this savior, Mary has a lot of importance. She performed this great work by God’s command and for fulfilling it, God gave her a great position.

“While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.” (Luke 2:6-7)
Mary And Jesus’ Relationship
Mary was very attached to Jesus. She loved Jesus very much. He had raised Jesus in great difficulty and trial and had faced many difficulties in bringing him up. Nevertheless, Mary kept Jesus close to her heart and raised him very well. Along with God’s command, Mary brought up Jesus with great love. Jesus also respected and valued Mary. This is a great example of the love of a mother and a son.

Sacrifice of Mary
Mary spent her life in love with Jesus. She had raised Jesus with great love and affection, but when he was crucified for spying on Jesus’ disciple named Judas, Mary’s heart broke. She was standing under the cross looking at her son with tearful eyes. This moment was very painful for her. The night before Jesus was crucified, Jesus told his cousin John, who was also his disciple, to take care of his mother. It shows the love of both mother and son.

“Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.” (John 19:25-27)
